Thoughts From Our Founder: A Bright Future Awaits
As commencement season is in full swing, it’s a great time to celebrate and reflect on the many achievements of our graduating kids, grandkids and other loved ones. On a personal note, my wife Shari and I recently celebrated the graduations of our oldest daughter Alexa from Berkeley Law and our son Jonathan from Wash U in St. Louis. We have all nurtured and encouraged the graduates in our lives throughout these formative years, and as they commemorate this important inflection point, we cheer them on with hope for what comes next.
Throughout my career I have frequently surmised that if life was linear and parallel for all, our job here at JSF would be easy. However, as we know all too well, life is completely unpredictable – subject to career changes, health concerns, tax and financial changes, family challenges, global unrest, economic uncertainty and so on. One of our JSF mantras is, “Plan for the expected and even more so for the unexpected.” It’s not what we can see that concerns us, but rather what we can’t see that often keeps us up at night.
While none of us know what tomorrow holds, our firm takes great pride in helping our clients and their families tackle life’s many surprises while staying focused on reaching long-term financial security and prosperity. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, market ups and downs, and heightened uncertainty due to the upcoming election, it’s important to maintain confidence in the future while keeping an even keel through good and bad times. It’s these triumphs and challenges that make reaching and celebrating life milestones like graduations even more significant.
Speaking of important milestones, our team is currently preparing to relocate from the 7th floor in our building to a brand-new suite on the 21st floor. As we embark on this new and exciting chapter, those same notions of resiliency, flexibility and patience that we think of for our graduates will no doubt also lead our team in what will be a season of big changes as we move on up. (Literally!) While our office view is changing, our steadfast commitment to caring for and serving our clients will remain the same. We can’t wait for you to see the new space and look forward to sharing important moments there with you in the months and years to come.
May we all continue focusing on our long-term goals as we remember to celebrate both the big and little wins along the way that make the journey worthwhile!
Wishing you a happy and relaxing summer,
Jeff Fishman
